was looking through pictures of the desert at night because of reasons
look familiar?
Okay had a odd thing happen today. About 5 months ago I got an email from a guy wanting to get permission to use a photo I had shot for a CD cover and merch for a band he was managing. He had seen it on a web site I have where I post images for people to use for what ever purpose they want, gratis.
They wanted to use it, but altered, and were not sure if they needed permission but thought it fair to check with me either way. I told him I post this stuff for free for people to use as they see fit. When I get these requests I usually just ask for a sample or link to what they did because I get a kick out of seeing what others have done with something I posted. He responded by saying I was the greatest and he would send me a CD when they were printed. Now I will tell you I had forgotten about this email and assumed it would be some small pressing of Buffalo Bob and his Kazoo marching band or some other crap.
Then about 2 weeks ago I got an email saying they had my CD and just needed an address. So I fired off an email of thanks along with my info. Well tonight I come home from work and there is a package in the mail slot with my CD inside. This is the CD I recieved *photo of day and age*.
I was a little shocked as you could imagine. But I sent him an email thanking him for holding up his end of the deal. I must admit they were beyond cool even asking for permission considering how much they adapted the photo.
